Andrew B. Holmes Laboratories

 

The Holmes group occupies custom-built laboratories in the new Bio21 Institute which incorporate ideas from leading research facilities around the world.

 

 

 

Bio21 Institute

The Bio21 Institute at the University of Melbourne is a multidisciplinary research centre, specializing in medical, agricultural and environmental biotechnology and materials science. The institute houses research groups from a wide range of faculties at the University. Key disciplines represented include Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Dental Science, Land and Food Resources and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. The research-only institute will eventually house over 300 research staff (including postgraduate students). The institute has a strong focus on commercialisation and includes a number of visitor labs, which will be used to house start-up companies, and an associated business incubator.
